// Operating Area Monitoring

Operating area monitoring

Operating area monitoring makes it possible to assess the shape of the unloading area, obstacles, people and surrounding objects in order to reduce risks.

It complements the monitoring of ropes and hooks, providing complete control over the status of the operation.

Operating area monitoring with vision system

Area mapping

3D dimensional checks and mapping of the unloading area to identify the placement point.

Foreign objects

Recognition of objects that do not belong to the area and of obstacles along the path of the load.

Automated actions

Safety signals to the plant control system, compatible with any protocol.

Work area control

Operating area and load trajectory

3D mapping of the area returns the actual shape of the bearing surface, avoiding damage to the load and risks to ground personnel.

Measurement accuracy varies according to operational needs: Mono3D for objects and references of known size, with accuracy up to 1 cm at a distance of 4 meters;
Bi3D for any surface and obstacle, with millimeter accuracy and a low standard deviation on the Z axis as well.

People detection

Detection of ground personnel in the operating area

Detection of people and human body parts takes place in real time, with proprietary AI models trained on public datasets and on images collected in the field. The alert can appear on the monitor or become a signal to the plant control system.

As with all our functions of this kind, it is a safety aid: it complements the protections required by regulations for the plant, without replacing them.

video protection in case of incidents

Continuous recording

The system can record continuously and keep the last minutes if the process is interrupted.
After an abnormal event, the reconstruction can start from the video recording, protecting both the company and the operators.

The collected data can feed statistical reports on the operation of the area: where stoppages concentrate, at what times of day, and for which types of load.
